Types of Thoughts:: What are different Types of Thoughts

What are different Types of thoughts

On an average, we conceive approximately 25-30 thoughts in a minute and around 30,000-40,000 thoughts in the entire day. These thoughts can be broadly classified into four different categories: positive, negative, waste and necessary. Positive thoughts are those, by the conception of which, we experience peace, joy, love, happiness, power, etc. We share this experience with others also. They empower the mind. Negative thoughts provide the experience of peacelessness, sorrow, discontentment, etc. to the self and to others and are associated with emotions like anger, stress, anxiety, envy, hatred, ego, fear etc. Waste thoughts are thoughts revolving around happenings of the past and worries about the future. Necessary thoughts are related to our day to day actions. A very large quantum of our thoughts in the entire day are waste and negative in nature and are the primary cause of all our stresses, worries, tensions, fears, etc. They debilitate (weaken) the mind. Unfortunately most of us mistakenly accept the 'stress experiences' as part of life, and do little to alleviate the pain or discomfort at the mental and emotional levels, until it becomes so severe, that it eventually leads to physical disease or illness.
